TPO stands for Thermoplastic Polyolefin. A TPO roof system consists of a single-ply roofing membrane, supported by a properly installed solid substrate – often an engineered insulation system – on flat or low sloping roofs. The TPO membrane comes in different thicknesses – commonly 40-mil to 80-mils or thicker. 

A metal roofing system consists of overlapping metal roofing panels or shingles that are fastened to open framing or a solid substrate. The most common types of commercial and residential roofing and/or metal roofing systems include: standing seam, R panel, batten panel, and other styles of ribbed panels. 

A tile roofing system consists of overlapping roof tiles securely attached to a solid substrate or roof deck on a sloped roof. Tile roofing is a very specialized field of roof installation. Tile roofs are installed on all kinds of commercial and residential roofing systems, and historical properties and can last for 100 years or longer. Tiles are available in terracotta, concrete, stone-coated steel, composite & more. 

A slate roof is comprised of overlapping slate roof tiles securely attached to a solid substrate or roof deck on a sloped roof. Like clay tile roofs, slate can last 100 years or longer. Slate roof tiles are a natural roofing product made of hard rock known as metamorphic rock, whereas other tile roof systems are made of manufactured materials. 

Ethylene Polypropylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) is a resilient single ply membrane formulated primarily from propylene and ethylene. Sometimes called a “rubber roof,” EPDM roofs can offer long-term coverage of 50 years or more with proper maintenance. Once installed, a fully adhered EPDM roofing system or commercial roof replacement is highly flexible and remarkably versatile in its uses. However, rubber roofing is most desirable for low-slope roofs or flat commercial roof structures. 

A shrink wrap roof seal for commercial and residential roofing has become the preferred roof tarp alternative for emergency leak protection in disaster areas after a large-scale hail storm, hurricane, tornado, or other high-wind event. It consists of a large plastic membrane that shrinks tightly to the contours of your roof using heat. Seams are also heat-welded to provide a water-tight seal. It is a superior alternative to blue roof tarps. 

Asphalt shingles begin with a continuous fiberglass “mat” that forms tensile and tear strength to the shingle. Specially formulated hot asphalt is bonded to the top and bottom of the mat layer to form a waterproof barrier. Finally, stone granules are embedded into the top layer of asphalt protecting the shingle from degradation, while adding the shingle color & shading that you see. 

PVC stands for Polyvinyl Chloride. A PVC roof system or commercial roof replacement consists of a single-ply roofing membrane, supported by a properly installed solid substrate – often an engineered insulation system – on flat or low sloping roofs. PVC offers excellent chemical resistance. Membranes can be both mechanically attached or fully adhered. 

Torch down roofing utilizes an open-flame torch to heat sheets of SBS modified bitumen, as they are rolled out onto the roof surface. The heating helps to adhere the materials to the roof substrate and to heat-weld seams together to form a water-tight seal. Torch down roofing can offer very long roof life for commercial roof replacement buildings in Edmond and throughout the State.

Roof coatings offer an alternative to complete commercial roof replacement. Roof coatings can be applied to pre-existing roofing systems that are still structurally sound, but that may be leaking due to corrosion, age, UV degradation or some other problem. Roof coatings are designed to extend the life of an existing roof. Roof coatings are available in silicone, acrylic, asphalt, polyurethane, and more. 

BUR (built up roof) membranes are commonly referred to as tar and gravel roofs. A BUR system is comprised of alternating layers of bitumen and reinforced felts that work together to form a waterproof membrane. A BUR roof is field installed using hot asphalt or coal tar that adheres to felt layers. The top layer usually consists of gravel, slag, or mineral granules.
